KCAA is a ketoplastic tripeptide. These three essential amino acids convert to ketones in the body and can therefore, with appropriate diets such as LCHF and ketogenic diets, both intensify ketosis and accelerate the activation time of ketosis at the start of a diet!
There are amino acids with ketogenic and antiketogenic properties:
To differentiate amino acids happens via the question of essential and non-essential building blocks. In recent years, however, it has become clear that amino acids can also be specified via the question of ketoplastic or glucoplastic properties; because some of these building blocks actually have a ketogenic effect and others are glucogenic. Ketogenic or ketoplastic amino acids convert to ketones in the body and can thus promote and intensify ketosis. Glucogenic or glucoplastic amino acids convert to sugar in the body and can therefore reduce or even deactivate ketosis!
However, it is remarkable that besides the two known ketogenic amino acids L-leucine and L-lysine, a further quantity of them have proven to be strong ketone formers. In clinical liver perfusion experiments and in experiments with diabetics it could be clearly proven that L-tyrosine and L-phenylalanine even show a higher ketoplasticity than L-lysine and L-leucine.
For KCAA`s we have specifically chosen the three amino acids L-leucine, L-lysine and L-phenylalanine because they are 100% ketoplastic but also essential and play a central role in muscle, hormone, fat and protein metabolism due to their specific mechanisms of action. Especially if you have a ketogenic diet, do a lot of sports, keep to a diet, are under constant stress or sleep badly from time to time, you should pay special attention to a sufficient supply of these amino acids.
L-Leucine is a proketogenic and essential amino acid which is necessary in the organism, especially for building up the muscles. It is also involved in fat metabolism (fat burning) as well as in healing processes of the liver. Scientific studies indicate that leucine can also promote the release of growth hormones. While these hormones are mainly responsible for bone growth during puberty, with increasing age they regulate the ratio of muscle to fat tissue. This effect can be additionally supported (optimised) by the manual supply of leucine.
L-lysine is a proketogenic and essential amino acid that performs a number of important physiological functions in the body and is particularly involved in the immune system, wound healing and the formation of connective tissue, cartilage, skin, hair, teeth, bones, tendons and muscles. Lysine also contributes to the formation of enzymes, hormones and antibodies and regulates blood pressure and fat metabolism. It is known that lysine is also successfully used to treat colds, flu and viral infections, such as cold sores, and is extremely effective in combination with vitamin C.
L-Phenylalanine is a proketogenic and essential amino acid that contributes to the formation of various hormones and messenger substances, such as thyroxine, adrenaline, dopamine, serotonin and many more, which can improve the chemistry in the human brain, among other things. Researchers have shown in some studies that an increased concentration of phenylalanine can improve performance, especially in stressful situations, strengthen memory, and reduce chronic pain, anxiety, and restlessness.
Take 2 servings of 6 capsules each daily. On training days: shortly before and during training. On non-training days: during the day and especially in stressful situations. Food supplements are no substitute for a varied and healthy diet!
